Vitality and excitement aren’t necessarily words you’d expect to hear in a retirement residence, but that’s certainly the case at my nan and grandad’s new home. She absolutely loves her new surroundings. There are always people to chat to, games being played, work that needs doing in the garden and adventures to be had. When she was living with my grandad in their house (that was way to big for them), they felt old and they felt tired. They’re two of the youngest people in their new retirement residence and perhaps that’s why they have a spring in their step, but I can only say it’s been a great move for them. Okay, so they did have a tough time at the beginning and they needed to make a few adjustments, but I can honesty say I’ve never seen them happier.
