There are always horrible stories in the news about care homes being vandalised by youths, while we often read about situations where care workers have been treating the elderly poorly. More should be done to combat these issues because nothing seems to change.

Many elderly people have worked and contributed massively to society throughout the course of their lives, and they should now be celebrated, not ignored. If they want peace and quiet they should be given it, and they certainly shouldn’t have to put up with the rubbish that they do. Today, not many stores provide senior discounts. What’s happened to that? It’s these little things that can make them feel special.

It just seems that society doesn’t respect the elderly like it once did and we’d love something to be done about this. The people of yesterday should be given a voice, and they should be treated with the respect that they deserve, and we feel society needs to chip in a little more to make sure they’re living their last days in bliss happiness.
