If you are about to finish school or are looking for a career change, have you considered working as a nurse. Nursing can be a very challenging yet rewarding career, you will care for others while they are at their most vulnerable. As a nurse you don’t just care for the patient, but your also provide care and support for relative and friends too.

Nursing training requires GCSE level qualifications including Maths, English and Science, and a good knowledge of Biology is preferred but not a necessity. You must attend university and obtain a nursing degree, in a specific field, such as adult, paediatrics, mental health or learning disabilities.

You must be prepared to work long hours and be flexible working weekends and night duty, as nursing care is a 24-hour service. It is recommended that you gain working experience within a hospital setting to make sure nursing is the right career for you.
